New Delhi: Leading Indian Muslim organizations, religious scholars, and civil society groups convened a press conference today at the Press Club of India and issued a joint statement expressing grave concern over the deepening humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. They called upon the Government of India to play a more assertive and morally courageous role in halting Israel’s ongoing aggression.
Addressing the media, the leaders described the situation in Gaza as an “unprecedented humanitarian disaster,” warning that famine is now an imminent and devastating threat.

“Gaza is starving. Not acting at this point would be a historic crime,” they declared.
They highlighted that with humanitarian aid blocked and Gaza’s infrastructure decimated, over two million residents are facing mass starvation, a collapse of medical systems, and a complete breakdown of essential services.
“Over 90% of hospitals and healthcare centres are bombed or non-functional. Entire neighborhoods have been erased. Families are surviving on scraps.
Newborns are dying in incubators for lack of fuel.
Doctors are performing surgeries without anesthesia. Every fundamental human system – health, education, nutrition, sanitation – has collapsed.
This is not self-defense; it is the systematic annihilation of a people.”
The leaders acknowledged India’s recent position at the United Nations where its Permanent Representative called for a ceasefire and emphasized the humanitarian emergency.
“We welcome our country’s recent statement at the UN General Assembly reaffirming our commitment to an independent Palestinian state and the call for an immediate ceasefire.
It is a positive step.” However, they strongly urged the Indian government to go beyond expressions of concern and step into a role of global moral leadership.
“India must denounce the indiscriminate bombing of civilians, the targeting of hospitals and schools, and the collective punishment of an entire population.
Words matter, but actions matter more.
India has both the historical standing and the diplomatic weight to lead the international community in calling out this genocide and holding war criminals accountable.”
They also called for the immediate opening of humanitarian corridors, and for India to suspend all military and strategic cooperation with Israel until the aggression ceases.
“India has a proud legacy of standing with the oppressed. We must honour that legacy now by acting decisively.
Silence and neutrality are not options when genocide is unfolding before our eyes.”
The leaders appealed to the Indian public to remain aware and engaged. “Palestine is not merely a Muslim concern.
It is a humanitarian concern – a matter of universal justice and human dignity.
We urge students, civil society, faith leaders, academics, and all conscientious citizens to raise their voices –
through protests, awareness campaigns, interfaith dialogues, and scholarly discourse. Gaza must not be forgotten.”

They also expressed concern over reports of incidents in some areas where solidarity with Palestine is being criminalized or suppressed, stating:
“Support for Palestine is not extremism. It is a defense of international law, of basic human rights, and of the very values enshrined in our Constitution.
Citizens must be free to express their conscience without intimidation or fear.”
The statement included a sharp appeal to the leadership of Muslim-majority countries:
“We urge Muslim countries to cut diplomatic and economic ties with Israel, and to form a united front demanding an end to this barbarism.”
The conference concluded with a strong call for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, and the urgent establishment of humanitarian corridors to allow the flow of food, water, fuel, and medical aid to the besieged civilians of Gaza.
Press Conference was addressed by the top leadership of All India Muslim Personal Law board, Jamiat Ulma e Hind, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadith, Students Islamic Organisation of India and other prominent Muslim Scholars. The detailed joint statement by Muslim organizations was also distributed to members of the press during the event.

نئی دہلی: ملک کی سرکردہ مسلم تنظیموں اور ممتازمذہبی رہنماؤں نے آج پریس کلب آف انڈیا میں منعقدہ ایک پریس کانفرنس میں غزہ کی موجودہ صورتحال سے متعلق ایک مشترکہ بیان جاری کیا۔ بیان میں غزہ میں جاری انسانی المیے پر گہری تشویش کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے حکومت ہند سے مطالبہ کیا گیا کہ وہ اسرائیل کی جارحیت کو روکنے کے لیے فوری اقدام کرے۔
قائدین نے اپنے خطاب میں غزہ کی موجودہ صورتِ حال کو انسانی تاریخ کے بدترین ابواب میں سے ایک قرار دیا اور خبردار کیا کہ وہاں قحط ایک ہولناک بحران میں تبدیل ہو چکا ہے۔ لوگ بھوک سے مر رہے ہیں۔ اگر ہم اس نازک لمحے میں خاموش رہیں تو یہ تاریخ کا انتہائی سنگین اور نا قابل معافی جرم ہوگا۔
میڈیا کو جاری بیان میں مزید کہا گیا کہ “اسرائیلی بمباری اور محاصرے کے باعث غزہ کا بنیادی ڈھانچہ مکمل طور پر تباہ ہو چکا ہے۔ 20 لاکھ سے زائد شہری شدید غذائی قلت، صحت کے نظام کی تباہی اور دیگر بنیادی سہولیات کی عدم دستیابی کا سامنا کر رہے ہیں۔ 90 فیصد سے زیادہ اسپتال یا تو مکمل طور پر تباہ ہو چکے ہیں یا ناقابلِ استعمال ہو چکے ہیں۔ کئی دیہات اور محلّے مکمل طور پر صفحۂ ہستی سے مٹ چکے ہیں۔ غذائی قلت کے سبب معصوم شہری اپنی جانیں گنوا رہے ہیں۔ ایندھن کی قلت اور عدم دستیابی کے باعث نوزائیدہ بچے انکیوبیٹرز میں دم توڑ رہے ہیں۔ ڈاکٹر بغیر انستھیزیا کے سرجری کرنے پر مجبور ہیں۔ اس وقت غزہ میں انسانی زندگی کی تقریباً تمام بنیادی ضروریات ناپید ہو چکی ہیں اور یہ سب کسی دفاعی کارروائی کا نتیجہ نہیں ہے بلکہ ایک منظم منصوبے کے تحت اسرائیل کی جانب سے غزہ کے عوام کو مکمل طور پر ختم کرنے کی کوشش ہورہی ہے۔
پریس کانفرنس میں اقوام متحدہ کی جنرل اسمبلی میں ہندوستان کے اس حالیہ بیان کی ستائش کی گئی، جس میں ایک آزاد فلسطینی ریاست کے قیام اور فوری جنگ بندی کا مطالبہ کیا گیا تھا۔ رہنماؤں نے اسے ایک مثبت پیش رفت قرار دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ یہ موقف قابل تعریف ہے لیکن ضرورت اس بات کی ہے کہ ہمارا ملک صرف تشویش کا اظہار نہ کرے بلکہ آگے بڑھ کر اس مسئلہ کے حل کے لیے موثر قائدانہ کردار ادا کرے۔ یقینا ظلم کی زبانی مذمت بھی اہم ہے لیکن حالات ہم سے زیادہ موثر اور فوری عملی کاوشوں کا مطالبہ کر رہے ہیں ۔ وطن عزیز کے پاس ظلم کے خلاف جدو جہد کی شاندار تاریخی روایت اور سفارتی صلاحیت دونوں موجود ہے جس کا استعمال کرتے ہوئے ہم اس نسل کشی کے خلاف قائدانہ رول اد کرسکتے ہیں ۔
اس موقع پر اس بات کا بھی مطالبہ کیا گیا کہ انسانی بنیادوں پر فوری طور پر غزہ کے لیے امدادی راہداریوں کا قیام عمل میں لایا جائے اور بنیادی ضروریات کا سامان بڑے پیمانے پر ہر ایک ضرورت مند تک پہنچایا جائے ۔ جب تک اسرائیلی جارحیت بند نہ ہو، ہندوستان اسرائیل کے ساتھ اپنے تمام عسکری و اسٹریٹجک تعلقات معطل کرے۔ جب ہماری آنکھوں کے سامنے فلسطینیوں کی نسل کشی کی جارہی ہے، تو ایسی صورت میں ہمارے لیےخاموش یا غیرجانبدار بنے رہنا بالکل بھی مناسب نہیں ہے۔
پریس کے ذریعہ مسلم قائدین نے عوام سے بھی اپیل کی کہ وہ فلسطین اور غزہ کے مسئلہ کے سلسلے میں سمجھ اور حساسیت پیدا کریں۔ یہ صرف مسلمانوں کا مسئلہ نہیں بلکہ ساری انسانیت کا مسئلہ ہے۔ طلبہ، سول سوسائٹی، مذہبی رہنماؤں، ماہرینِ تعلیم اور با ضمیر شہریوں سے اپیل کی گئی کہ وہ غزہ کے ساتھ اظہارِ یکجہتی کریں- چاہے وہ مارچ ہوں، احتجاجی جلسے ہوں، بیداری مہمات ہوں، علمی مذاکرے ہوں یا بین المذاہب پروگرام، عوام بڑے پیمانے پر اس میں شرکت کرے۔ غزہ ایک ایسا مسئلہ ہے جسے نظر انداز کرنا ممکن نہیں۔
پریس کانفرنس میں یہ بھی کہا گیا کہ بعض حلقوں کی جانب سے فلسطین کے ساتھ اظہارِ یکجہتی کو مجرمانہ فعل کے طور پر پیش کیا جا رہا ہے، جو انتہائی تشویشناک ہے۔ رہنماؤں نے زور دیا کہ فلسطین کی حمایت کوئی جرم یا انتہا پسندی نہیں بلکہ انسانی حقوق، بین الاقوامی قانون اور ہندوستانی آئین میں درج بنیادی اقدار کے عین مطابق ہے اور اس سے آگے بڑھ کر ہر باضمیر انسان کی اخلاقی و انسانی ذمہ داری ہے۔
اس موقع پرمسلم اکثریتی ممالک سے بھی مطالبہ کیا گیا کہ وہ اسرائیل کے ساتھ اپنے سفارتی و تجارتی تعلقات ختم کریں اور اس غیر انسانی جارحیت کے خلاف متحدہ محاذ قائم کریں۔
پریس کانفرنس کا اختتام فوری اور غیر مشروط جنگ بندی، غزہ کے محاصرہ کے خاتمے ، عوام کو خوراک، پانی، ایندھن اور طبی امداد کی فراہمی اور امدادی راہداریوں کا قیام کے مطالبہ کے ساتھ ہوا۔ اس موقع پر مسلم تنظیموں کا مشترکہ اعلامیہ بھی شرکاء میں تقسیم کیا گیا۔
اس پریس کانفرنس سے آل انڈیا مسلم پرسنل لاء بورڈ ، جمیعت العلماء ہند ، جماعت اسلامی ہند ، مرکزی جمعیت اہل حدیث ، ایس آئی او و دیگر ملی تحریکات کی قیادت اور نمائندہ مذہبی اسکالرز نے خطاب کیا ۔
