National Bravery Award Ceremony Held on Martyrs’ Day
Bravery awards conferred on Martyrs’ Day as leaders pay tribute to Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru

The ceremony, conducted by Dr. Bharat Jha and senior journalist Rakesh Kumar Singh, served as a platform to recognise individuals who have demonstrated exceptional courage, selflessness, and commitment towards society and the nation.
The event witnessed the presence of distinguished dignitaries, awardees, members of civil society, and media representatives, coming together in a spirit of patriotism and remembrance.
The Chief Guests included Shri Ram Das Athawale, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, and former Union Minister Shri Ashwini Chaubey.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Ram Das Athawale said, “Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru symbolise fearless patriotism and social commitment. As we honour acts of bravery today, we must also carry forward their ideals of justice, equality, and national unity.”
Shri Ashwini Chaubey remarked, “The sacrifice of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar and Shivaram Rajguru is not just a chapter of history but a guiding force for the nation. Their courage continues to inspire generations of Indians.”
The event was further graced by Guests of Honour including Param Vir Chakra awardee Captain (Honorary) Yogendra Singh Yadav; Shri Ram Bir Singh Bidhuri, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), South Delhi; Smt. Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), West Delhi; and Shri Devesh Chandra Srivastava, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police (Crime and Media), Delhi Police.
Ms. Nitya Pathak, Chairman, Sulabh, and Ms. Parul Singh were also present on the occasion.
Ms. Parul Singh, President, SAFECURE Services Pvt Ltd, emphasised the relevance of courage in contemporary society and said, “The legacy of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru is not just about sacrifice, but about standing up for what is right despite challenges. Today’s youth must draw inspiration from their courage and translate it into action in their own lives.”
During his address, Captain (Honorary) Yogendra Singh Yadav said, “I still remember the moment during the Kargil War when I was just 19 years old, standing in the face of adversity with nothing but courage and faith in my nation. It is that spirit which defines true bravery.”
Dr. Bharat Jha, speaking on the occasion, said, “This ceremony is not just about honouring bravery, but about keeping alive the spirit of sacrifice and responsibility that our martyrs—Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru—stood for. It is essential that the youth of this country connect with these values.”
During the ceremony, awardees were felicitated for their exemplary acts of bravery and service to society. Speakers highlighted that such recognition plays a crucial role in inspiring citizens—especially the youth—to uphold the values of courage, integrity, and national service.
The event concluded with a collective resolve to honour the legacy of India’s martyrs and to continue fostering a culture of bravery, responsibility, and national pride.

नई दिल्ली, 23 मार्च, 2026 – पद्म विभूषण आदित्य नाथ झा मेमोरियल द्वारा शहीदी दिवस के पावन अवसर पर नई दिल्ली स्थित प्रेस क्लब ऑफ इंडिया में राष्ट्रीय वीरता पुरस्कार समारोह का आयोजन किया गया। इस अवसर पर शहीद भगत सिंह, सुखदेव थापर और शिवराम राजगुरु सहित उन सभी वीरों को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की गई, जिन्होंने देश के लिए अपना सर्वोच्च बलिदान दिया।
कार्यक्रम का संचालन डॉ. भरत झा और वरिष्ठ पत्रकार राकेश कुमार सिंह ने किया। यह समारोह उन व्यक्तियों को सम्मानित करने का मंच बना, जिन्होंने समाज और राष्ट्र के प्रति असाधारण साहस, निस्वार्थ सेवा और प्रतिबद्धता का परिचय दिया है।
इस अवसर पर अनेक गणमान्य अतिथि, सम्मानित होने वाले व्यक्ति, नागरिक समाज के सदस्य और मीडिया प्रतिनिधि उपस्थित रहे, जिन्होंने देशभक्ति और स्मरण की भावना के साथ भागीदारी की।
कार्यक्रम के मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में केंद्रीय सामाजिक न्याय एवं अधिकारिता राज्य मंत्री श्री रामदास आठवले और पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री श्री अश्विनी चौबे उपस्थित रहे।
सभा को संबोधित करते हुए श्री रामदास आठवले ने कहा, “भगत सिंह, सुखदेव और राजगुरु निडर देशभक्ति और सामाजिक प्रतिबद्धता के प्रतीक हैं। आज जब हम वीरता के कार्यों का सम्मान कर रहे हैं, तो हमें उनके न्याय, समानता और राष्ट्रीय एकता के आदर्शों को आगे बढ़ाना चाहिए।”
श्री अश्विनी चौबे ने कहा, “भगत सिंह, सुखदेव थापर और शिवराम राजगुरु का बलिदान केवल इतिहास का एक अध्याय नहीं, बल्कि राष्ट्र के लिए एक मार्गदर्शक शक्ति है। उनका साहस आज भी पीढ़ियों को प्रेरित करता है।”
कार्यक्रम में विशिष्ट अतिथियों के रूप में परम वीर चक्र से सम्मानित कैप्टन (मानद) योगेंद्र सिंह यादव; दक्षिण दिल्ली से लोकसभा सांसद श्री रामबीर सिंह बिधूड़ी; पश्चिम दिल्ली से लोकसभा सांसद श्रीमती कमलजीत सहरावत; और दिल्ली पुलिस के विशेष आयुक्त (अपराध एवं मीडिया) श्री देवेश चंद्र श्रीवास्तव, आईपीएस उपस्थित रहे।
इसके अलावा, सुलभ की चेयरमैन सुश्री नित्या पाठक और सुश्री पारुल सिंह भी इस अवसर पर मौजूद रहीं।
सेफक्योर सर्विसेज प्राइवेट लिमिटेड की अध्यक्ष सुश्री पारुल सिंह ने अपने संबोधन में कहा, “भगत सिंह, सुखदेव और राजगुरु की विरासत केवल बलिदान तक सीमित नहीं है, बल्कि यह हर परिस्थिति में सही के लिए खड़े होने का संदेश देती है। आज के युवाओं को उनके साहस से प्रेरणा लेकर उसे अपने जीवन में उतारना चाहिए।”
अपने अनुभव साझा करते हुए कैप्टन (मानद) योगेंद्र सिंह यादव ने कहा, “मुझे आज भी कारगिल युद्ध का वह क्षण याद है जब मैं मात्र 19 वर्ष का था और कठिन परिस्थितियों के बीच अपने देश के प्रति विश्वास और साहस के साथ डटा हुआ था। यही भावना सच्ची वीरता को परिभाषित करती है।”
डॉ. भरत झा ने कहा, “यह समारोह केवल वीरता को सम्मानित करने का अवसर नहीं है, बल्कि हमारे शहीदों—भगत सिंह, सुखदेव और राजगुरु—के बलिदान और जिम्मेदारी की भावना को जीवित रखने का एक प्रयास है। यह आवश्यक है कि देश का युवा इन मूल्यों से जुड़े।”
समारोह के दौरान वीरता और समाज सेवा के क्षेत्र में उत्कृष्ट कार्य करने वाले व्यक्तियों को सम्मानित किया गया। वक्ताओं ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि इस तरह के सम्मान नागरिकों, विशेष रूप से युवाओं, को साहस, ईमानदारी और राष्ट्र सेवा के मूल्यों को अपनाने के लिए प्रेरित करते हैं।
कार्यक्रम का समापन देश के शहीदों की विरासत को सहेजने और समाज में वीरता, जिम्मेदारी तथा राष्ट्रीय गर्व की भावना को आगे बढ़ाने के सामूहिक संकल्प के साथ हुआ।
